Huge Mahjong rules

  • Game type: Mahjong Solitaire
  • Theme: Classic
  • Tiles: Traditional tiles
  • Time limit: Yes (generous)
  • Developer: Zygomatic

Tiles

Huge Mahjong uses traditional mahjong tiles that are clear and easy to recognize. The tile set includes the classic suits and honor tiles commonly found in Mahjong Solitaire games.

As in most Mahjong Solitaire variants, the flower and season tiles are special. These tiles can be matched with any other tile in their respective group rather than requiring an identical match.

Layouts

Huge Mahjong focuses on very large layouts. Instead of the usual 144 tiles seen in many Mahjong Solitaire games, these levels contain significantly more tiles, creating longer and more challenging games.

The game features 200 different layouts. Only the first layout is available at the start. The remaining layouts must be unlocked by completing earlier layouts.

Gameplay

Remove tiles from the board by matching pairs of open tiles. A tile is considered open when either its left side or right side is free, and there are no tiles covering it from above.

Only identical tiles can normally be matched. The only exception is the flower and season tiles, which can be paired with any other tile from the same group.

Hints

If you get stuck, you can request a hint to highlight a possible match. Each hint costs in-game coins.

Coins are earned during gameplay by successfully making tile matches, allowing you to save them for moments when you really need help.

Time Limit

Huge Mahjong has a generous time limit rather than a strict timer. For example, the first layout allows 45 minutes to complete the layout. This relaxed limit lets players focus on strategy instead of speed, which is especially helpful given the massive layouts.

Developer

Huge Mahjong was developed by Zygomatic, the developer of several other mahjong games on our website such as Master Qwan’s Mahjong and Jolly Jong.
